Job Description

Be Part Of A High-Performing Team

Join a specialized Medical Affairs statistical programming team within a biopharmaceutical organization supporting post-submission scientific and analytical activities. This close-knit team works across publications, abstracts, scientific meetings, internal analyses, and other high-priority reporting needs. With a lean structure and strong emphasis on accuracy, the environment is highly collaborative while giving experienced programmers meaningful ownership over their work.

What's In Store For You

  • Fully remote opportunity anywhere within the continental United States.
  • One-year contract engagement with potential extension based on performance, business need, and budget.
  • Flexibility to generally work within your local business hours while maintaining sufficient overlap with an East Coast-based team.
  • Opportunity to work within a small Medical Affairs statistical programming group where individual contributions are highly visible.
  • Exposure to varied post hoc, ad hoc, publication, and scientific reporting requests.
  • Potential opportunities to support other statistical programming teams during lighter Medical Affairs workload periods.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Provide statistical programming support for Medical Affairs analyses, publications, abstracts, scientific meetings, and internal requests.
  • Produce and validate tables, figures, listings, and other statistical reporting outputs.
  • Pick up existing SAS programs developed by other programmers, quickly understand their structure and logic, and accurately adapt them for new requests.
  • Develop parallel or related analyses by modifying established programming approaches and reusable code.
  • Use both SAS and R to support analytical and reporting deliverables.
  • Perform ad hoc and post hoc analyses with short turnaround expectations.
  • Maintain exceptionally high programming and QC standards across deliverables.
  • Work independently while collaborating closely with statistical programming colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support other statistical programming groups when workload demands shift across the organization.
  • Manage multiple requests while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Are you an experienced statistical programmer ready to make an impact in Medical Affairs reporting?

  • At least 3 years of relevant statistical programming experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or a related clinical research environment; candidates with 5+ years are strongly aligned.
  • Advanced hands-on SAS programming skills.
  • Strong hands-on R programming experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and modify programming originally written by other programmers.
  • Strong experience developing or validating tables, figures, listings, and other statistical reporting outputs.
  • Experience supporting ad hoc, post hoc, publication, abstract, or scientific reporting analyses is highly valuable.
  • Familiarity with CDISC standards, including SDTM and ADaM.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot code and deliver high-quality programming with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to programming quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a small team while managing shifting priorities and short timelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
